After her first Bikram Yoga class, Deanne knew she had found something special—so special she immediately quit her morning job in order to dedicate that time to the 9:15 yoga classes.
“I knew I had been introduced to a unique form of exercise —one that not only increased flexibility and strength, but also added a balance, an internal awareness, a way of healing that is lacking in the traditional Western way of exercising.” Spurred on by the positive changes she could feel in her body, Deanne started practicing five to six times a week, only to discover many positive psychological changes taking place as well.
As a teacher, Deanne wants to pass the enthusiasm she feels for yoga on to her students. “I want to encourage students to give yoga 100% of their effort so they can gain 100% of the benefits—and there are so many benefits.” Deanne feels honored to be teaching. “ I am grateful to be able to help people discover for themselves what a powerful positive force yoga can be in their lives.
