My first practice of yoga was with Hatha yoga that was 17 years ago. From that first class I knew that is was what I wanted to bring to my life. It was Robin who introduced me to Bikram’s yoga. I practiced where she taught, until she opened her studio in l998. I was in the front row on that wonderful first day the studio opened. My practice continues faithfully to this day.
What I would like to bring to the students who come to practice are the many benefits that I have found over the years. I will take the class through the practice with the words, but they (the students) are having the experience of the practice, the source of yoga. Engaging the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual parts of self are essential for creating health. Yoga helps you deal with these aspects and helps promote a more stable human being.
Protecting your health! Just the practice of using the breath, Pranayam, keeping the lungs strong and elastic. I am presently studying more about breath work and the keys it offers for self healing. Care of the self, cultivating a positive attitude with mindfulness. The impact from the students as they practice is truly inspiring as I watch them opening their minds, their bodies and the room fill with joy and bliss. I thank Robin for the vision to open the studio for it doesn’t teach beauty, IT RADIATES IT! See you at Being Yoga!
