Kevin Fitzmaurice

Kevin has been teaching Bikram’s Yoga since completing the Teacher Training Program in June 2000 and has been a regular practitioner since 1996. The yoga started out as just a means of staying in shape, since he couldn’t play sports or run anymore due to an ankle injury. After a while he noticed that the tightness and twinges in his back, from sitting at a computer all day, had disappeared. Then he started noticing other subtler changes such as not getting sick as often and having a more optimistic outlook on life. His yoga experience has convinced him that diligent, mindful, regular practice is the ultimate means of achieving total body maintenance and preventive medicine. “This yoga works every part of your body, but the special emphasis is on spine health, so it directly addresses the back problems that plague so many people in our society.”

Kevin hopes to inspire the other students to practice mindfully by tapping into their inner wisdom during their yoga practice so that it becomes a meditative, therapeutic practice that can improve their life as well as their body.
