Kathy O’Marie

August 2006

Kathy O’Marie began her yoga practice in 1999 after walking by our studio with interest. Since then, she has taken over 800 classes and become a consistent and positive presence at Being Yoga. Although Kathy had been doing other forms of exercise, she says the yoga brought a calming and peaceful energy to her life. She practices Bikram Yoga in the mornings three days a week and has received many benefits to body and mind. Kathy says, “With yoga, life doesn’t seem as stressful, I’m more relaxed and it has helped me in both my work and personal life. I feel more in balance when I’m practicing regularly.”

Shortly after committing to a regular yoga practice, Kathy came on staff to help out around the studio. Her reliable and friendly demeanor helps to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and is much appreciated by the other staff. As a student, Kathy is enjoyable to have in class- she is sweet, humble and pleasant to others. After maintaining a three day a week practice consistently over 7 years, Kathy says she is still growing over time, both in and out of her postures. When asked about yoga, Kathy says, “Everyone should try it at least once. It keeps you open to new things. It works for me!”.
