Kerry Bitner began her yoga journey while pregnant in 1998 and quickly realized the healing benefits that a consistent yoga practice brings. Yoga helps Kerry balance the joint and muscle stress from years of running and continues to help her balance the demands that motherhood makes on both body and mind. Now a busy mother of two, she makes the time to practice Bikram yoga at least three days a week, seeing it as an efficient way to work both her strength and flexibility and receive a mental break from everyday pressures.
When asked about her yoga experience, Kerry says, ” I keep practicing yoga because it makes me feel good, I continue to find it challenging, and I love the simplicity of it, just my body and mind working together. The longer I practice, the more I appreciate and value the mental and spiritual aspects. I do believe that every time we practice yoga, we each put our little piece of goodwill out there in the universe. I get inspired by knowing that these postures have been around for thousands of years and by thinking that each conscious breath and movement is another chance to enjoy being alive”. Her postures reflect humble self-mastery and connection to the moment. Kerry is a calm and positive presence at our studio, and we are pleased to honor her as our May Student of the Month.
