July 2006
Linda Rosen began practicing yoga in 2003 while on a break from work and quickly realized the benefits that a regular yoga practice brought to her life. In addition to her improvements in physical strength and balance, Linda has felt positive changes in her work and personal life since committing to practicing regularly. She says, ” Yoga definitely helps me to de-stress and think more clearly at work. I find I am a calmer person now, more accepting of others, their opinions, and generally more accepting of challenging situations in life”.
The classroom environment that yoga offers is very supportive for Linda in her practice. She says, “Knowing that there are others in the room with similar goals and intentions, it makes the effort easier for me. The yoga room is a comfortable and safe environment where noone will be judged and expectations are not put upon people…we can all just be…and that is such a nice feeling which helps me get to class – even when I am really tired. As a student at Being Yoga, I feel every effort is made to make the students feel comfortable with themselves, the class, the postures and the yoga philosophy”. Linda is known by her teachers as a quiet and humble practitioner and a very positive presence at our studio. We are proud to honor her as our July Student of the Month.
