August 2003
“I love it! I’m never going to stop!” Maura Murphy exclaimed while being interviewed as August’s Student of the Month. “Bikram’s is not just something new to try; it’s really a lifestyle!”
Maura’s enthusiasm for Bikram’s comes after practicing regularly for two-and-a-half years, during which time she has watched herself, and her life, being transformed. Since starting her practice, Maura says, “My overall personality has changed. Things don’t bother me as much. I’m seeing more of the good.”
Initially, Maura, an avid exerciser, said she found it hard to “accept Bikram’s as a form of exercise,” and that she “didn’t care about the mental or emotional” components. It wasn’t long before Maura realized Bikram’s was an incredible workout and that the emotional and mental components really did mean something to her. “I couldn’t believe it would make such a change in my attitude towards life, but it did!”
Bikram’s came into her life right around the time Maura took on a new position as a manager at a café. “I’m running around on my feet, lifting things continuously, and, because of Bikram’s, I never lack energy. I’m in a good mood constantly, and I’m dealing face-to-face with people that might have irritated me, but now I can handle it.”
Maura’s excitement for Bikram’s is reflected in her patience. She’s diligent, focused and sincere. Her enthusiasm is contagious and positively influences everyone around her. We’re thrilled she’s never going to stop!
