Roy Spencer

November 2003

After a friend told Roy Spencer that Bikram’s Yoga was one of the most difficult exercises he’d ever tried, Roy felt compelled to try it himself.

Roy’s “trial” has continued for two-and-a-half years of dedicated practice. “Its’ an ongoing process,” says Roy. “You never really arrive.”

Roy arrives regularly at the studio, however, because he says that Bikram’s is such “an unusual blend of great mind and body benefits.”

Working on a new Internet business (which means having to sit a lot), Roy appreciates getting to the studio to stretch out and limber up. “It makes me feel good physically,” Roy explains, but it’s the whole package of benefits that keeps him coming back for more.

“It’s the exercise, anti-anxiety, self-reflection, clear-your-mind-of-clutter combination,” that appeals to him. “It’s a great way to get your head back onto thoughts that are REALLY important — a way to contemplate how we fit on the planet.” All of us who practice Yoga understand the importance of that.
