Freedom in Your Body and Mind
Happy New Year all our fellow yogis! It’s great to be starting out a brand new year with each of you—a new year full of unlimited potential, possibilities and hope. And as we all look into the future with fresh aspirations and resolutions, we at Being Yoga would like to declare our own studio’s resolution for 2009: Freedom in Your Body and Mind!
While it is true that Freedom in Your Body and Mind has been our studio’s mission statement for many years now, we would like to greet 2009 with a renewed and re-energized commitment to it. For this reason, we have chosen it as our “theme of the month.” Please read on. We are excited to share the opportunities this statement opens up to you:
It’s no secret that yoga is an extremely effective method for freeing up the body. It is now common knowledge that yoga increases balance, flexibility and strength, all resulting in a pain-free, free-moving body. To make yoga classes as available as possible, Being Yoga will continue to offer a wide selection of 39 regularly scheduled classes a week, throughout both day and evening hours. And—speaking of freedom—one of those classes, the Sunday 6:30 pm Bikram Yoga, is now being offered FREE.
In addition to our regular classes, throughout the year Being Yoga will be offering workshops, seminars and clinics, all designed to help students improve their yoga practices and achieve their own personal goals. This month alone, we are offering five yoga workshops (see the “Events” section of our website, www.beingyoga.net.) And—speaking of goals—we encourage students to sign up for our “Yoga Challenge,” where students commit to attending sixty classes for 60 days. Talk about an acceleration towards freedom!
At Being Yoga, we are re-committed to helping students find freedom of the mind. The physical practice of yoga alone helps free the mind from stress and negativity. However, Being Yoga wants to help students take it to the next level with meditation and Kriya Yoga Philosophy. Through meditation and Kriya Yoga, students can find an even deeper sense of peace and freedom from fear. Therefore, starting January 8th from 8:30 to 9:30, our studio is offering a new Kriya “Creative Imagination Series” dedicated to the understanding and practice of the very liberating spiritual side of yoga. And be sure to mark your calendars for March 5th when Kriya Yoga Master, Roy Eugene Davis will be visiting our studio!
Being Yoga is indeed resolute about helping students free their bodies and minds. Be sure to check our website regularly for all our current listings of classes and workshops dedicated to the cause. Make a commitment to yourself. Spend 2009 with us and find your own personal freedom. It’s going to be a great year!
